Here’s the rub: STEMI vs pericarditis

I had intended to follow up my recent series of posts on STEMI vs pericarditis, a pet topic of mine (1. case / 2. ECG interpretation / 3. follow up), with a piece on differentiating these two entities. However, my posts were spotted by the incomparable ECG expert Amal Mattu, and he has based this week’s UMEM “EKG of the week” on the ECG from this case. His discussion puts anything I might have written in the shade, and I recommend that you watch/listen to his take, which gives a simple, neat and safe approach to this fraught topic. (Note that since Amal prepared his talk, my website has moved to the new domain, so please use http://underneathEM.com rather than the old URL provided in Amal’s slides)

Please do subscribe to his page on the UMEM website and sample more of his ECG pearls. They are gold, if that isn’t a completely awful mixed metaphor!

Just came across this video — really helpful. Work in pre-hospital setting (paramedicine). Thanks for posting this online!
